The PADI Rescue Diver programme develops your knowledge and skills so you can effectively rescue and/or assist other divers, manage diving accident situations and give first aid. This Fiji dive course is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. It helps shift your primary focus of attention from yourself, to starting to think about others that may need your help more.
The PADI Rescue Diver course covers:
- Self-rescue and diver stress
- Panicked diver responses
- Underwater problems - identification and effective response
- Missing diver procedures
- Surfacing unconscious divers
- In-water artificial respiration
- Swimming and non-swimming assists
- Egress (exits)
- Dive accident scenarios
- Diving first aid
- First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
- Emergency management and scuba equipment considerations
To enter the Rescue Diver programme, you'll need to be certified as an Advanced Open Water Diver. You will also need to have successfully completed the PADI EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE® programme or another sanctioned programme in CPR within the past 24 months.
After successfully completing this programme in Fiji, you'll receive the internationally recognised PADI Rescue Diver certification card. PADI Rescue Diver certification is also a prerequisite for all PADI professional membership programmes.
