Scuba divers look up to divemasters because they are seen to be leaders who mentor and motivate others. They are a role model to divers everywhere. So it is important to learn about the role and characteristics the Divemaster plays in the industry.
What's more, many Divemasters go on to become Instructors so the training and experience you gain through this course helps shape your abilities and attitude toward becoming a professional level dive educator. To help this process, PADI has developed its Divemaster Crew-Pak and various other study and training materials.

This involves training activities using various structured training sessions, simulated scenarios (including a search and recovery project and a deep dive) or internship sessions with actual PADI programmes. These training sessions enable you to gain practical experience as an instructional assistant and a supervisor of open water diving activities, both as a coordinator and as an underwater guide.
Upon successfully completing the PADI Divemaster programme, you will receive a certification card and wall certificate denoting this prestigious rating. You'll also become a member of PADI and receive benefits, including the ability to purchase professional liability insurance.
Entry requirements: You'll need to be: certified as a Rescue Diver; at least 18 years old; in good physical condition for scuba diving and submit a physician-signed medical examination form; have CPR and first aid training within the past 24 months; and be able to show a minimum of 40 logged open water dives prior to this training course, and completed and logged a minimum of 60 open water dives with experience in night, deep and underwater navigation prior to certification as a PADI Divemaster.
